I haven't tried the Accu-Trigger ones yet but an older Savage with a Timmey is hard to beat in my book

I don't care for the AccuTrigger's two-stage pull, either. Out of the box, most of the pull effort on mine is from the safety lever; the main trigger goes as soon as you touch it. I have a lot of trouble with the trigger prematurely dropping while I'm depressing the safety lever. When it starts that, sometimes I'll recock and get a misfire 15 times in a row! Oddly enough, I've found that working the safety on and off after cocking seems to stop this abberant behavior. Guess I'm going to have to take it in.

I am glad I got "last years model" without the AccuTrigger. I am going to drop in a Rifle Basix or Sharp Shooter Supply trigger in it. I am still trying to decide which one to get.

Personally I think the AccuTrigger is a LawyerTrigger that Savage's Marketing Department came up with a great catchy name for.
Kind of like the brown diamonds that have always been relegated to use as abrasives. Some DeBeers marketing genius came up with the name "Champagne Diamonds," and they're selling their former junk at a premium.
