CZ 527 .223 update...
Started trying to get the gun shot in and zeroed today...picked another bad day...cold and windy...but here goes...
I tried several loads....most all hovering around an inch for 5 shots...but there seemed to always 3 or 4 rounds clustered pretty tight, and 1 or 2 rounds opening the group up to an inch, it seemed to want to shoot. I checked everything and cleaned it over and over, trying to get all th possibilities out of the way...finally, I tried a Speer 52 gr hp, 24.3 gr AA 2230, CCI 500 primer with R/P cases.....hmmmmm....5 shots I could cover with a quarter...looking pretty good so far, will work more and let ya'll know, but I think for a 6 lb rifle....it is wanting to shoot. Heck, I will be satisfied if this is as good as it gets.....

It sounds like you are enjoying the new rifle. You will have it dialed in quickly. Then you can get out in the field and bloody it.

with your lightweight barrel I would consider shooting 3 shot groups instead of 5,and (its a pain but)let the bbl cool a lot between shots sounds like its telling you it wants to shoot it just isnt likeing the loads yet

RIGHT ON THE MONEY. I TAKE AT LEAST 3 GUNS WITH ME SO I CAN TAKE THREE SHOT GROUPS. CLEAN AND SET A SIDE . AND SHOOT ANOTHERE ONE . THE TIME I GET DONE THE LAST ONE THE FERST ONE IS REDDY. TAKE 22LR SO MAYBE IT WILL NOT BE SO MUCH ON AMMO BIG GEORGE

Thanks guys.......yes, some of it is barrel heating, but I am letting it cool at least 1 minute with the bolt open, between shots...ambient temp at about 39 degrees. The three shot group is great Sgt........but ya'll wouldn't believe how tiny some of those are....REALLY tiny...some one jagged hole.
This little rifle is endearing it's self to me....it is so tiny, but it thinks it is a "Big Boy"
I want it to do as well as it can, but I need to remember it is a tiny rifle. If I want to shoot groups, I will get out another rifle, with better optics and a heavy barrel....maybe 25/06 ?? That one will shoot....
Thanks for the advise, I will keep you posted.....
