How many have them and what caliber? My only custom is a stainless 700 action with a Lothar Walther fluted barrel chambered in 280AI, although I have just shot 280 rem factory ammo so far. It is pillar bedded into a McMillian stock and has a 4-16 X 50mm B&L. Even without handloads it will shoot 5 into .75 and would probably do better with someone else in the drivers seat. Droptine

#1. USRA (Winchester) Classic Model 70, .300 RUM, with Krieger barrel and H&S Stock. Shoots sub .5 MOA.
#2. USRA (Winchester) Classic Model 70, .300 WEA with Lilja barrel and Supergrade Stock. Shoots sub .5 MOA.
#3. USRA (Winchester) Classic Model 70, 6.5 mm WSM with Hart barrel and Featherweight Stock. Shoots great; a really cool light rifle.
Working on a .300 WSM with Lothar Walther barrel; how do you like your L-W barrel?

Love it, absolutely no fouling and hasn't changed a bit since day one. The next rifle I have done will definately have a LW ss barrel. Drop

Sarge-
The 6.5 WSM used to be a .260 Remington that I had rechambered. Gunsmith opened up the rails and bolt face and feeds like a champ. This little rifle has given me a whole new level of respect for 6.5 caliber.
Droptine-
The .300 WSM I am working on has a L-W barrel and I can't wait to try it out. I have heard a lot of good things about them and I want to see if it's true.

Sarge-
I have reamer; .296 neck. I have not had a chance to shoot it over a chrony but, I hope I am getting close to .264 Winny velocities; using 61 gr. Reloader 22.
I have been using .300 WSM brass Winchester headstamp. Very consistant in weight. Must have been some of the first off of the production line. Shooting 129 grain Hornadys through a Hart #4 barrel that is 24" long 1 in 8 twist. I ordered the dies from Huntington. I tried WW 760 as my first powder and did not have great success.
Shot a White Tail spike two weekends ago; typical shoulder shot at 80 yards. Deer dropped so fast I did a double take. Neat entry wound; exit wound the size of a quarter maybe more like a nickel. Plus the rifle handles well and is fairly light.
Sometimes I feel like my .300 RUM is like hauling around an artillary piece.

Customs are nice after you have so many factory guns you can't find anything in the gun shop to buy anymore. Reached that point some years ago. I have recently begin reducing my collection of guns that I no longer use. Got tired of cleaning stuff that sat in the gun safes between cleanings and never saw the light of day. But my customs, particularly those that I commissioned, will stay.
1.) Custom Siamese Mauser .45-70, cut rifled barrel, throated specifically for the Lyman 462560, a 545 grain blunt nosed "sledgehammer" type bullet.
2.) Custom Hall action 6 ppc with Shilen match bbl.
3.) Custom Rem. action (accurized), single shot 6 mm A.I. in McMillin stock, heavy Shilen bbl.
4.) Custom Paul Jaeger .375 H&H mag, early Sako mauser action, swingover scope mount by Jaeger, 3 leaf express sites as well.
5.) Custom .17 rem built on a Rem. 600 action, Keiger match grade bbl., custom wood.
6.) Custom AR-15 (the old Colt) with med. heavy S.S. 22 in. bbl and all the bells and whistles.
7.) Custom Ruger flattop, .357 mag. converted into a .44 spl, custom barrel band front site, a bit heavier than factory bbl at 5 1/2 inches, Armoly finish. Action job, etc. I had this done by an Arizone smith many years ago, whose name, unfortunately escapes me at the moment, but a really fine job.
8.) Custom Ruger flattop 44 mag, done by magnaport arms for me many years ago, bbl cut to 5 1/2 inches, magnaported, trigger and hammer hi polished, with sides of the hammer engine turned, action job, etc.
