A while back, I bought a lightly used 700 ADL Synthetic in .223 to replace my ten ton heavy barrel AR calling rifle. I replaced the stock with an H-S Precision, and when torquing the guard screws, I cracked the hi-tech Remington plastic triggerguard. I jumped online, and notified Remington that their plastic triggerguard wasn't up to the job. In the meantime, I added another $25 to an existing Brownell's order and bought an aluminum triggerguard. Well, I checked the mail today, and there was a padded envelope from Remington. Inside was a brand new matte finished STEEL triggerguard. I almost passed out. I haven't seen a factory Remington 700 triggerguard in years! I initially thought surely this is just heavy aluminum. Well a magnet sticks to it, and it's pretty meaty. I had a running gun battle with Remington about a year ago over a receiver that they drilled and tapped incorrectly, and finally after three months of emails and phone calls, they replaced the receiver. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction for Remington Customer Service.

......don't do that to me, my heart can't take it! I am equally surprised!! I also can't believe they still had one. Plastic has been the rule for a while now. Congrats! Bob

Well, I guess it's turned into "Ask and thou shall receive" in Ilion, NY now. Either that, or they have me mistaken for someone important.

I'll have to agree with you on that one Lorenzo. I've checked my Brownell's catalog, and a steel triggerguard runs $48.50 (dealer cost, not retail). Heck, I paid $30 for the black aluminum triggerguard that I have.

Heck no. I installed the steel one, and saved the aluminum one for my next adl project. If I save it, I'll just lose it.

I'll try, but sometimes I think that if it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have none at all.
