Remanufactured ammo is what? Is it any good? I thought I read to stay away from it.

Remanufactured, or reloaded ammunition is as good or as bad as the people who loaded it, and the components used in it....powder, case, bullet and primer.
I know this sounds vague, and it fact it can be. Even excellent components assembled in a shoddy fashion will yield bad ammo.
It can range from best quality, to worse quality, to inoperable, to down right dangerous.....
If you stay with one of the more reputable companies, you shouldn't have any trouble. There are several out there. I won't attempt to name all of them here, but do a little checking around and you will find them.
I am aware of a few really good ones, and I think Bozowise ( another posse member) has had great service from a Texas company...
Black Hills is very good, as is Precision Delta(pistol only)
Hope this helps........

Yes, it does help! In fact, Black Hills was the brand I was looking at. 223 is so cheap that I may not want to even try and reload it!

The US military shooting team uses Black Hills reman (blue box) to compete with! yes its good stuff, I mostly hunt with ultramax 55 gr. soft points (evan cheaper @ 238.00 per 1000) have no trouble connecting with groundhogs and crows out to 400 yds beyond that my ability is what runs out. Ultramax loads a variety of bullets from very cheap metal case bullets to nosler ballistic tips and even the 60 gr. nosler partition. I reload for everything except 223's not enough savings or accuracy advantage to justify it RR

Hey Mark.......ditto on the Black Hills! You will probably be hand loading yourself before too long if you hang out with this group! Bob

My vote for remanufactured is the UltraMax .223, loaded with the 52gr. HP's (Hornady, I believe). It's devestating on everything it hits. I used to use that load to cull exotics off of the ranch that I used to foreman on. It's rather explosive on the skulls of exotics. Shot a coyote and a fox with it, and it's definately not pelt friendly, but very effective at removing the forward motion of a coyote.

I will definately be getting some of the Black Hills Hornady's! Only site I know of is Midway, who else sells them?
The UltraMax also looks very good, would like to try their 42 gr frangible! Who sells those? Do not see them anywhere on my sites!

Mark: If you can't find UltraMax locally, Cabelas usually stocks it.
