GonHuntin is the Moderator for this forum. He is an avid and knowledgeable handgun hunter and shooter. He has been known to take everything from a .22 LR to a 44 Mag hunting, along with about a million or so Contender and Competitor combinations. Thanks, GonHuntin'!!  |

My latest hunting handgun is the relatively unknown Competitor single shot pistol. This pistol features a cannon breech action similar to the Lone Eagle, but the Competitor is light years ahead in design. The Competitor action is extremely strong, in fact, the factory will chamber one in 458 win mag for those with enough stones to drop the hammer!!! I recently had a 35 Remington barrel rechambered to 350 Rem Mag by On Target Technologies and I am in the beginning stages of working with it.
Hopefully we can swap stories and share knowledge on this forum! Mark

Congratulations, Mark!
I have two handguns that I've hunted with: A Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 that I've had since I was about 15 years old, and the Super Single Six Convertible .22 that I bought for my wife nearly 20 years ago. I think my boy's Ruger Mark II Government Model has good small game possibilities, too.
