GonHuntin,
I love the cartridge selections. I just read something about the .25 Souper in a gunrag and the .338-06AI harkens to the great .35 Brown-Whelen but with a dramatically better bullet selection. Pulling the trigger on that .338 must be envigorating indeed! ;D

I picked the barrels up at the post office this morning and, of course, I had to shoot at least one of them! I put the 338-06 AI on the action and loaded a couple of test rounds.....went out back and lit it off.....it's a boomer! Recoil with a 225 grain bullet and 62 grains of 4350 is brisk, even with the brake......it's about like the 350 rem mag with a 225 ballistic tip......not painful, but you KNOW you have turned one loose!
Now I need to get the scope mounted and do some serious load testing.....this barrel is suppose to do 2600+ with a 200 grain bullet.....and do it with 3 shots under 1" at 100! We will see.......and I need to try the 25 Souper out too! New toys....gotta love 'em!

I shot the first test loads using the 100 grain Ballistic Tips in the 25 Souper last week......the load still needs some work....I get 2 almost touching and one an inch or more away.....I did chrono the load and it's doing 2850......
Loaded up some test loads using 200 grain BTs for the 338-06AI.....haven't tried them yet.......
