Well, I learned a lesson a little bit ago. I was outside shooting the bow with the new light for night hunting hogs and when I released the second arrow... CRACK!! my arm hurt, I hear pieces of something hitting the barn beside me and my sight pins are mangled!!! After gathering up what I could find of the arrow and looking REALLY closely at the bow, I think the arrow (carbon) broke in the fletching. I had noticed the fletchings on one of the arrows looked like it had a little tear in the middle along the arrow but didn't look real close because the plastic vanes are always showing wear toward the end. One of the pieces I found was the rear of the arrow and it was broke right where the fletching had been torn. I can only surmise the arrow had somehow been damaged and came apart when I released. No damage done beyond a big hickey on my arm where the bowstring hit and I guess part of the arrow attacked the sight pins on my TR high $$ sight. The pins straightened out okay but practice is over for tonight. MORAL: Always check ALL your gear, even before practice!!

There WAS a bit of a sting! It's right where the strings hit if your form is off but its a long welt so it may have been the middle part of the arrow. It was an Epsilon Heavy and I've been shootin' them for years now so I'm sure the arrow had to be damaged. At first I thought the arrow had come off the back of the rest somehow I think I'll wait until tomorrow and go the the bow shop before shooting anymore

Ya I now the feeling when you get slapped on the arm and you remember to bend your arm the next time. I have never seen a arrow explode near the fletchings. I have seen them break in the middle because of a crack that you can' t see with the naked eye.
