I am looking to get a handgun scope to mount on the striker that I won recently. ;D I have never hunted with a handgun, and don't have a clue as to what power to get. It seems that there are limited selections on the variable powers - 1.5 to 4, and 2 to 8. With this being a 17 HMR, what variable power scope would be good? I am kinda leaning towards a 1.5 to 4 power. I really don't think I would need an 8 power on a handgun of this caliber. Also, does anyone have any dealings with the Burris handgun scopes? All I have ever hunted with is Leupold, but their handgun scopes start @ 250.00, for a 4x. The Burris 1.5 to 4 is around $200.00. Thanks for all the help

Burris is the way to go, they make the very best handgun scopes. I do have a used 1.5 X 4 if you would be interested......I'll send you a PM about it.

I have a Burris 3x9 on a xp-100 pistol and a 1.5x4 on a 30-30 pistol and love both of them.I like the 3x9 the best.
