Guys.....just for your info...the new Japanese made Weaver scopes are very good scopes. I now have 2 of the 3x9, 38 mm scopes and couldn't be more pleased. They will "Box" perfectly, are very repeatable, clicks are very near the 1/4 inch at 100 yards, and the light transmission/clarity are on par with most any scope I have ever used. For the money guys, the new Weavers cannot be beat...
I know a lot of you guys have to be like me. I read about all the nice scopes a lot of people have, Swarovski, Unertyl and so on, but I can't afford to own them. So I added this thread for the guys who need a good quality scope for $160-200, or the pro model for around 300...to be honest, I think the classic is as good as the pro...in a side by side comparison, I bought the classic......
I know you can occasionally catch a low end Burris or Redfield for the $160-200 range, but you can always get these for that....
As I said....FYI

Joe, the only Weaver that I own is the Grand Slam and I am real happy with it. Clear optics and repeatable settings on the windage and elevation. Also, the return to zero is very consistent. All in all a good scope for the money!

I have not had a chance to look through or try the Classics, but at $149 for the Classic V9 3-9X 38mm Matte, they are supposed to be a pretty good value. I appreciate the first hand report.
As texasshooter said the Weaver Grand Slam 3-10X 40mm Matte (Plex) at $239 is one of the best buys out there today. They are one of the most underrated scopes on the scene, as are the Sightron II's.
Good Hunting,
Bob

Hey, I'll give them a 2 thumbs up also. I have two, a 3x9 on my 17hmr and a 6x24 on my 22-250. Both are high quality and much easier on the wallet that my Leupolds. Ray
