I was gonna ask about opinions on the Burris B PLX,but you all answered my question in an earlier thread.I'm gonna go with the 3.5x10x50 with the Bplex on my 22-250 calling gun.I was wondering about preferences for rings and mounts. My other rifles have redfield mounts, and I have not had problems with them, but they have been on many years and there may be something new and better. Also, were is a good place to find a replacement stock for a Rem. 788.I bought one real cheap at an estate sale, but someone had trimmed down the stock for a kids deer rifle.

Burris "Z" rings are very good, as are the Loopies....I am quite fond of one piece mounts, although some prefer two piece....I like those the rings lock into as opposed to clamping onto......just my 2 cents worth....
BTW- I am in west central Arkansas...near Ft Smith, if you are close maybe we can shoot one sometime.

Cross J, I prefer the Leupold bases and rings.....dual dovetails if they are available for the particular model. There are many aftermarket stocks out there for the good ol' 788. Are you looking for a wood or a synthetic stock? Both Ramline and McMillan make the synthetic stocks....Ramline on the low end and McMillan on the high end. Here is a used wooden stock on e-bay: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3662115394&category=36258Bob ps-That 788 is problably ruined and won't shoot......just send it to me and I will dispose of it for you. ;D ;D
