I know that some here probably use cast bullets and I just found this www.precisionbullets.com, the price isn't bad either . I just ordered a few for my 10mm. Best of all they are in TEXAS ;D

I cast bullets and velocity well over 2,000 fps is common. I shoot them in my .243 around 2700-2800 fps. In 22 cal 2000-2200 and 30 cals to around 2400 fps. I don't find the lube any more messy than any other part of reloading. Leading is minimal and clean up as easy as any other bullets. I've cast for over 35 years and kept hearing that adding tin to wheel weights would help fill out smaller molds(.22 cal for example). I bought some solder for the tin and could tell no difference. So that spool of solder is the only alloy I have or will ever buy. I have always been able to find free sources of wheel weights and various suitable materials. Like any other aspect of reloading there are costs to getting set up and after that, my expenses are minimal. If you use gas checks, they have gotten pricey---but cheap compared to jacketed for the most part.
