Anybody have any idea what this means for us IMR users? I would hate to be forced to work up all new loads. I use a heck of a lot of different IMR powders. I know that a lot of people say that Hodgdon is the best, heck I have even met JB Hodgdon and his son on a couple of trips to South Dakota shooting PDs. They are good people... but that would take me months... maybe years to start over with all new powders.

I saw that statement on the IMR 'site. Guess that's where you saw it too? I sent Hodgdon an email, asking when we would get some news, but, I ain't holdin' my breath for a reply.>>>>>>>>>>>Bug.

I sent them an e-mail also. They have always replied promptly in the past. This could be a good marriage...I sure hope so. Hodgdon does not manufacture powder(except black-powder)-they sell it under their name, IMR does make powder. It will be interesting to see how it all settles out.....

Well, Dust Me Off! A rapid reply from Hodgdon: My post: Congratulations! I am sure this will bring good things to Hodgdon. Care to give a preliminary comment? When will your website reflect the change? Any revisions, to the IMR product line, expected? Give us some NEWS!
Their reply: We have no plans to consolidate the lines from either company. We feel that they both have unique (excuse the wording) features and advantages. We will continue to supply the products unchanged and from current plants. We look forward to doing more aggressive marketing and updating some of the IMR data etc. We hope that you will continue to use our products and appreciate the business that you have given us in the past.
Thanks,
Phil Hodgdon
I sent the above to a customer earlier. We plan no reductions, only additions and better service to the IMR line. Please give us a little time to get our act together on the data etc, as this just happened on Tuesday.

me too.... I got the same email. At first I thought..."that's what they all say", but I guess if enough of us voice a concern over the possiblity of loosing IMR powders, maybe they will listen.

Hodgdon has since put this on their web-site: IMR has been the mainstay of numerous handloaders for many years. The IMR brand product names remain and are now supplied by Hodgdon. “IMR is manufactured in the same plant with exacting performance criteria and quality assurance standards that Hodgdon users have come to expect,” said Tom Shepherd, President of Hodgdon. Hodgdon has no plans to consolidate the lines from either company. We feel that they both have unique (excuse the wording) features and advantages. We will continue to supply the IMR products unchanged from their current manufacturing plant. We look forward to doing more aggressive marketing and updating some of the IMR data etc. We hope that you will continue to use our products and appreciate the business that you have given us in the past. We are currently out of printed IMR data manuals. In the mean time you can get the data at the following link: www.improvedmodernrifle.com/safe.html
