I have only used them on paper and I could not get them to group as well as the 55 gr Nosler BT so I have yet to load up a hunting round. Yet I am looking forward to some other peoples insight. I think might twist rate is a bit off in the Rem LT to use the 60's

CD,
The new Nosler manual has loads in .223 for the 60gr. Partition. It shows Benchmark as the most accurate tested. Let me know if you need some data. R-15 should work well also..........3000+fps.
New toys....... ;D

Hey Sarge,
I have not used the 60gr Partitions on coyotes or bobcats. I usually use the 55gr. #1365 Sierra 55gr. SPBT or 50gr. BT in my 22-250. They should do very well on coyotes without too much damage in your .223. I would not use them on cats if you are concerned about the fur.
Let us know how you do with them.
Good Hunting,
Bob

I will throw in my .02 cents right quick. Until this weekend I hadn't had any personal experience with any .223 cartridge, but I really did like how the 55 gr. ballastic tips worked. I expected a large exit hole on the coyote I shot, but it wasn't any bigger than a quarter. I have heard others say the ballastic tips will leave big holes in most animals shot, but so far I haven't seen it. I will be back after some more yotes in two weeks so we will see then. Hey Sgt. if you do decide to go with the 60 gr. partitions let me know ASAP and I might be able to get a couple of boxes real cheap - place here in town is getting rid of all there reloading stuff. The last I looked they had 2 boxes of 60 gr partitions. Everything else was pretty well picked over.

thankx anyway capt, last weekend I managed to make a decent trade, stopped at a gunshop that is outta the way for most lots of odds and ends and discontinued stuff, they had an FN Browning Safari grade in 270win for a VERY good price(and me being a certified M98 nut)I made a trade,so dont have an AR to load for anymore, however I now need loadinfo on the 270winne (and if it doesnt shoot well Ill have it rebarelled to 6.5 Gibbs,100gr bt at 3500 to 3600fps wow that should do the trick)

Good afternoon BW and Sarg. I appreciate the response. I finally have all of the pieces for converting my AR-15 service rifle to a varmint hunting machine. I'll be loading up some rounds so I figured I'd ask which bullets work best here in the land of blowing dust and sun. Which 55 grain bullet are you using? I've been thinking about going to a Sierra 69 grain match hollowpoint. How does that sound to you guys?
