Has anyone done anything with a 30cal carbine as far as different weight and type of bullets? I was thinking about a 90gr and a 110gr v-max. Before I buy everything, is it worth playing with as far as performance? I will be shooting it through a M1 Carbine.

the rifle itsself is a great carring little piece, light handles fast, but the ctg leaves a lot to be desired,110gr sp at 1900fps and runs outta gas fast at 100 its down to less than 1500fps,it would be better(if you reload for it)vs a 22rimfire,I suspect it might make a good pig gun(at 50yds or so),as long as ALL the conditions are exactly right and shot placement is exactly right

Qaz, Since starting in '72 or '73, I've loaded Hornady 100 and 110 RN with 14 and 15 grains H 110, 8.5 Unique, 16.5 H 4227, and 15 2400. Also shot the 120 gr (with my WW alloy) Lyman 311359 (a pointed gas check design) and 12 and 13 grains H 4227. All in military brass with WW 6 1/2 116 primers. (Am I dating myself?) All cycled the action of my GI Carbine reliably and shot just fine. A heck of a fun shooter. Only thing I don't like is having to chase that brass. ;D
