Hodgdon Powder Company Issues 45 Colt High Pressure Data Warning
SHAWNEE MISSION, KS. - Hodgdon Powder Company Issues 45 Colt High Pressure Data Warning On page 132 in the new 2004 Hodgdon Annual Manual are two lines of data using LONGSHOT powder in the standard 45 Colt section that was intended for use in 45 Colt (Ruger, Freedom Arms and T/C ONLY) section. These two lines of data appear in the 250 grain Hornady XTP and 300 grain Sierra JFP sections. DO NOT USE THESE LOADS IN A STANDARD COLT OR ANY REPORDUCTION MODELS SINCE EXCESSIVE PRESSURE MAY CAUSE FIREARM DAMAGE. FAILURE TO HEED THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN SEVERE PERSONAL INJURY (including death) OR GUN DAMAGE TO THE USER OR BYSTANDER.
