22-250 Load Costs (2/1/2004) I just updated my costs to load for my 22-250 and thought some of you might like to see what it costs. The powder(Varget-180 rounds/lb.), Winchester brass(based on loading each piece 6 times), and WLR primers costs $0.016/round. The bullets cost: Hornady-40gr.VM $11.10/100 $0.110/each Nosler- 50gr.BT $12.99/100 $0.130/each Sierra- 55gr. SP $9.05/100 $0.091/each Nosler- 60gr.PT $13.49/100 $0.135/each Hand Loaded Cost Per Box & Round: Hornady 40gr. V-Max $4.88/20 $0.244/round Nosler 50gr. BT $5.28/20 $0.264/round Sierra 55gr. SP $4.50/20 $0.225/round Nosler 60gr.PT $5.38/20 $0.269/round Factory Ammo: Hornady 40gr.V-Max $14.00/20 (Save 65%) $0.700/round Nosler 50gr. BT $13.25/20 (Save 60%) $0.663/round Rem 55gr. SP $12.25/20 (Save 63%) $0.613/round Nosler 60gr. PT $16.50/20 (Save 60%) $0.825/round It comes out to about $0.25/coyote.

Bob, I am surprised to see that you are only getting 6 reloads from your cases. I am getting something like 10-12 from mine. I use Federal and RP cases.

Hey TS, I didn't say that I was only getting 6 loads from a piece of brass. I just used that number as a conservative way to calculate load cost. I do use Winchester brass for all of my rifle cartridges. I did land some once fired Hornady/Frontier 22-250 brass from Westexhunter though.......... Bob
