Haven't tried the 4227, but 12 grains of H110 in my Ruger works great with the 35 V-Maxes. It is listed as max I think, but works great in mine. Work up from lower!!!!

Hey reloader, i just tried the 35 gr. v-maxes last weekend in my 221 fireball. They grouped much better than I expected for such a light stubby bullet. Should be good in hornet. Taking 221 prairie dog shooting (not hunting) this spring, this bullet should make em explode. Good luck with your hornet. Mike

My load using 35 gr Hornady VMAX is with 13.3 grs of LiL'Gun and CCI (400) small rifle primers. The case will be all most full. The bullet is setted to an OAL of 1.712". In my rifle if will group at less than a 1" at 100 yards with no flyers.
