Am new to reloading as you know or can easily guess. Got the Varget and the Noslers. Have been used to loading the 6.5X55 with just a wee bit more case room. Load up 26.5 gr's of Varget and WOW almost full case. To keep from compressing set my COL at 2.25 inches. Is this OK, what do you use? What is max COL for Colt AR-15? My magazine measures 2.290 inches. Why is this stuff not more simple?

Don't worry about compressing the Varget......won't hurt a thing........I'm using 28 grains with a 40 grain bullet and 27.5 grains with a 50......
As far as overall length.......if it will fit and function through the magazine, then it should be fine.....

MarkA I have used that load lots of times like GH said if it will fit the mag and chamber it will be ok,I pretty much only use compressed loads in all my ammo(is generally more consistant)

Thanks that is what the net is good for, I would have worried (as worrying) about getting the bullet puller and just scraping all those loaded rounds. I learned and y'all saved me some time and money and more important, WORRY!
