I am curious what everyone is having to pay currently for their deer lease in different areas? How many acres? How many hunters? Season or annual? Can you hunt other game?

I have been day hunting mostly. This fall going deer hunting near Hondo. That will cost $600 for 3 days including lodging and my step dad can tag along including sitting in the blind with me. Dove hunting on public land. Recently moved to the Rio Grande valley. Who knows where I will end up hunting next year, If I find a good deal in the area.

I only have a 2 week lease that calls for up to 6 hunters at $245. ea. There are 3 other groups of 2 week hunters with a week between hunts. Approx. 545ac. and 2 other hunting areas that the land owner leases in the same manner next to this one. A couple of pluses are that the Powell Ranch 6000ac. (Bosque Co.) butts up on 2 sides and I have been told that no one hunts this area, and I have my 2 weeks during rut. I am looking for something else though, but I may still keep this one.

A partner and I lease about 400 acres for $750 apiece just west of Flatonia.
Not the best location, but durn convenient.
I also lease about 380 acres during spring turkey season for $400. Well worth the price of admission - really good turkey hunting there. The owner doesn't mind if I bring a couple of guests either.

Hey Sarge,
Go up to the "Finding Hunting Leases" message. There are several sources there you can use to find both leases, day hunts, and guided hunts. I hope you find something.
Good Hunting,
Bob
