What big game hunts do you have set for this year?
Right now it looks like I am just doing whitetails and blackbucks.
I hope to do a west Texas free-range aoudad and a New Mexico pronghorn hunt next year.

Hey Aggie... What hunt unit are you gonna hunt in N.M.? I rifle hunted unit 16A twice, and 16B; finally got mine in 15A on a muzzleload hunt in November.

Hogs and varmints will be the main menu this yr. We are not allowed to hunt deer on our place, but hope to find a place that we can soon. No out of state hunts this yr, since we went to Montana last yr. Planning on going to NM next season with muzzleloader for elk and mulies.

:PHey Aggie.... sounds like ya got a great set up. I got lucky and drew 16A back to back, but had terrible weather both years. In16B we saw a nice bull with 6 cows but he was on (very) private land. finally put in for the late muzzleloadhunt in 15A and got the one in my logo! My cousin is doing some guide work again this year; he had several late Jan. & Feb. private land hunts left over last year, so if you don't get anything let me know! They may have something left this season too! ;D Oh yeah.. uh Sic 'em Bears?

:oBears!!! LOL And congrats on the elk!!! I keep putting in for the bull hunt first but havent been lucky enuf to draw it yet. I will sure keep that in mind jd and thanks!!. Yeah my uncle sent me a video of his uh ahem "cabin". Let's just say we wont be gettting cold or wet unless someone leaves the window open and the central heat off!!! LMAO He rebuilt up there after all the fires, all metal this time of course and put in a huge 16X20 garage with racks and block so all we have to do is back up and unload elk!!! Hopefully have some pics when I get back if I dont forget the cam again this year!

;D Hey Aggie... Hope you get one this time out! Sounds like your gonna really ruff it out this year! My first year we stayed in an A frame cabin along side a trout stream. Beautiful setting until we got up the next morning with 18" of snow on the ground! Could hardly get out of camp much less hunt for elk! Never put in for Cloudcroft area, but hear that around the Mescalero Reservation has been a good area. My cousin lives in Silver City, so have always hunted the western side mostly in the Gila Wilderness. Lots of big 'uns in there and up north around Chama. You can see a better pic of my elk in the thread for the WELCOME MODERATOR. If you like stats, the NM Game & Fish puts out a matirx each year that gives all the results for the drawings and kills for each unit and animal. Kinda neat to study, but when ya think ya figured it out, they go and change up the units or something! I didn't put in for elk this year, but may try to go on a deer hunt in November. You can buy OTC deer tags after the draw hunts are done! My cousin works for Down Home Outfitters; he started last year guiding for turkeys mostly. He's a regional Turkey Call winner and had been wanting to guide for years! Speaking of bears!!! What a mess we have at THEE university! Ha! It ain't easy being GREEN (and gold)!

I havent hunted anything bigger than a jackrabbit, and I plan to hunt rams this summer. Im planning to go 4 to 5 times, the La Rama Del Mezquite Ranch, they are affordable and close to home. Ill go deer hunting when I get more hunting experience and Win the LOTTO. Also I also plan on learning to call predators. Saw a bobcat about 2mi from my house, theres a bunch of racoon tracks near a canal nearby and there is a dead coyote about 300ft from my house (road). The area has some coyote and they havent been hunted.

GHOST or at least it seems that way. The Whitetails in the panhandle have been awfully ellusive so far this year. Drop
