My wife and I I spent last Friday and Saturday out in western Oklahoma on a scouting trip for my upcoming antelope hunt......it was a long trip but we had a great time and saw lots of game.......hopefully, it will pay off in a few weeks.
This morning, my 12 year old son, my taxidermist (who is also a good friend) and I went to eastern Oklahoma to scout for a special youth deer hunt my son drew. The hunt is scheduled for probably the best weekend of the year for big bucks and it is a rifle hunt in prime big buck country, so we are pumped .......we saw 8 deer including 2 bucks, 3 turkeys, 2 coyotes and 6 elk!!! I didn't expect to see the elk, you can't hunt them in this area, but it was fun to see them anyway.......hopefully, my son can put his tag on a big buck in a few weeks....
So how is your scouting going???
