Just wondering how many of you have to deal with cattle in the area you deer hunt? Do you think having cattle on the property hurts the deer hunting??

I have to deal with Cattle on 2 of the places I hunt,But I do run them out of the Pasture I am hunting in on a regular bases. The south Texas Place has Not Cattle but lots of feral Goats that will mess a good hunt up.We kill as many as we can,but there are a lot still out there.
I need to plan a hunt just to kill, off as many as we can.

Hey TexasDoc,
Let me know if you want help clearing out those Goats, I love Goat meat. I might be willing to travel from Kalifornia just to help you out.
I sure wish we had that problem in our area, but then again the anti's would ban hunting them and spend my tax dollars to provide habitat.

Hey Doc, I think that would be a hoot! If you think you can put up with us, let me know and we will see if we can get something set up. Maybe we could make this our BBQ weekend with some goat control thrown in? If you want to explore this, let's start a new thread and not hijack GH's question here..........sorry GH. Bob

;DHey GH... for the first time since I've been deer hunting, which is about 40 years now, I am on an 1800 acre lease with NO CATTLE. I am seeing all kinds of game and bunches of it!
And, I know that opening morning is gonna be great no matter what! No cows knocking over and stomping on feeders, tearing up feed pens, and no interrupted shots.
"Is this Heaven?" ;D

Don't worry about hijacking the thread....this goat rope sounds like fun!
Might be worth the 9 hour drive!!! Sure would be interesting to see what a 50 bmg would do to one!!!
I have a couple of big bore rifles that need blooded too..... sounds like a great opportunity to test the 416 Rigby and 376 Steyr.

I have the cattle / deer conflict at my lease as well. My lease partner has circled his feeders with barbed wire, but I am too lazy to do it -
but then I am the one that has taken a deer and he doesn't!!! ;D
To answer the second part of your question - I haven't seen any conflict between the two, but don't know for sure. My preference would be to not have the cows there. When I take my dog to the lease, the old Mama Cows give her a fit - think she's a coyote or a wolf.
