I know I know. You would think with my horrible experience Thanksgiving weekend with Sam Menk I would run from this. but feeling the urge to get out this last weekend. I have been talking to a guy about a ranch up by Freer (Ruben Garza) I don't expect alot for $150 a day, but would be nice to have one more try. Probably will hunt from noon saturday to noon sunday. and if it's decent add on the sunday evening to. It looks t be about 3-3 1/2 hours from home. Told him I would call this morning to discuss further. What do you think?

I've been on some really good day hunts and some not so good, have never been skinned the way you were last time. This late in the season everything is going to be shot up pretty good on the day leases, but totally depends on what kind of pressure they've had lately. You might ask him when the last hunters were there and how many and what they killed, if he is leasing he should have a record of kills for the state.

It ended being a real windy hunting trip, but was sure nice to get outdoors. Saw a few does and 1 spike, but was looking for a something larger, so passed. I thought about the spike this morning, but just enjoying watching was good enough for me today.
