We went out this morning taking a client from Dallas. This was Chad Peery's first ever hog hunt and was it a memorable one. A cold front had made its way in and the wind was blowing 15-20 out of the north and none of us figured we would see much of anything. Not an hour after daybreak we look up on the tank d**n and here they come..........4 sows and about 20 little porkers. They were only 50 yds from the blind when they walked out. Chad takes a bead on the lead sow............BOOOOM...................WHOOP. Down she goes and before you know it he has already taken the next one out as well. They break and run to our left and as they make a turn he lets loose again and sow #3 is down. Now within 3 minutes we took a young man from the city and completely converted him to PURE COUNTRY. After smoking a cigerette and calming his nerves he informs us that what had just happened was unbelievabe and he was ready to do it again. ;D We tried to warn him that hog hunting was very addictive and now that he has gotten a good taste of it I believe he will be back quite often. It sure makes me feel good to see a new hunter smile, especially when I was a part of it. All of us at Clearfork Outfitters had a great time hunting with Chad this morning and we can't wait to have him back out again. We do ask that he waits a month or two so that the herd can build itself back up LOL!! In all honesty this was a new group of hogs that none of us have ever seen and believe me there are more than plenty of seed still out there for everyone else. I will try to get the pictures developed and posted for all to see.
