Came across an ad in the Hunting section of the paper today advertising hog hunts about 15 miles away from home!! Weather permitting, I'm taking Katie tomorrow after school to check it out  |

Man, I'm excited about this! I've taken Katie hog hunting twice and have yet to see a hog  so I'm really hopin' this works out. Especially since its REAL close! Hope to have pics later tonight!!  |

CD, enjoyed the chat and am looking forward to breakfast!! Well, Katie still hasn't seen a hog  This is just a couple hundred acres of farmland that borders a creek, there was a ton of sign but they just didn't show up before dark. The owner is a real nice guy and said we can come back until she gets one! He doesn't run any feeders but corns the road running along the creekbottom every other day. We had geese overhead, coyotes in the distance and a couple of raccons about 40 yds away plus I got to spend a couple of hours in the woods with my daughter. All in all, a great afternoon!! ;D ;D |

Sorry to hear the hogs still haven't showed themselves to Miss Katie. The word must have gotten out on how good of a shot she is and they are all too afraid! ;D Keep after them Katie. Kelly I know that we all would love to have everyday like that to spend with our kids - a few hours in the woods makes for a lifetime of memories. Keep up the good work.

It is nice of course to bring home some bacon but to me I really enjoy hearing the coyotes howl at night and early morning. that makes it worth the 4 1/2 hour drive to where I hunt at.
