How many of you have come across a hogs bed? How many of you have come across a hogs bed that was full of little hogs that scared the tea total hell out of ya?? Until I came across one of these on my own, I had never really known what to look for. I do now. For this area of Texas, a feral sow will compile leaves and grass together and make a bed out of it. These can be found almost anywhere - edges of grain fields, especially hay graizer, in cattails at the edges of creeks or ponds, and some have been found out in the wide open. This is just a place her little ones can crawl in and take cover from the weather or from danger. Now like most mothers, a feral sow will fight to keep her babies safe so be carefull when approaching one. I will try to get a picture of one to post, but here lately my puter isn't wanting to post pictures very well.
