I'm 48 and in Bryan Texas. I started shooting and reloading at age 16 with a Lee Loader. I shoot crows, coyotes, feral hogs and other varmints with a converted Rem. 722 in .221 Fireball. Just started hunting hogs and deer with a pistol this year. Just finished a project rifle that is a .450 Marlin on a P-14 Enfield. Am currently working on a '93 Mauser conversion to .35 Remington. Both these project rifles will shoot cast bullets. Used the .450 on deer last year and want the .35 primarily for plinking and shooting the cheap .357 pistol bullets through. I have shot in NRA High Power competition for several years shooting an AR-15 Service Rifle and a Spacegun. I am classified as a master. Our club, The Brazos Valley Service Rifle Association has a web page at www.bvsra.org. Another new member here is Mulerider, he is one of my shooting companions and a BVSRA member. He is currently working on a project with a Cooper in .17 Mach IV. He also shoots a converted 788 in .221 Fireball and is the guy that got me started on my .221 rifle project. (He makes durn good jerky too) As an aside, the .221 Fireball is a great varmint cartridge for our semi-populated livestock producing land around here. Its not very loud and yet has excellent 200+ yard performance on varmints. I shoot: 629 S&W Mountain Revolver, .44 Mag. Redhawk, .223 "El Coyote" AR-15 varmint rifle, .25-20 #3 Ruger conversion, .32-20 Savage model 23, .450 Marlin P-14 Enfield, Glocks, Khars, and all types of other interesting rifles and handguns. I shoot a lot! At least once a week and I try to shoot twice or more. I enjoy rescuing guns for a good price from hock shops and shooting them, learning about them, and then reselling them to friends or at gun shows. If anyone is in the B/CS area and wants to get connected to the local shooting community, email me or go to our webpage. A group of shooters meets at a local BBQ joint in Bryan every Wednesday for lunch and shooting conversation. Your welcome to come by for good BBQ and good fellowship. Thanks for this new board and I hope it does well!

Hello I'm Steve. Just moved to the RGV from Houston a month ago. Turned 49 last monday. I have been hunting and fishing since I can remember. I hunt Deer, Hogs, Sheep, Birds, small game and hope to get a couple of vamints this year. The place I am going deer hunting has Bobcat, Coyote and a couple of mountian lions running around. Going to bring my .223 as well as 3006 to the blind. I better shoot the .223 first to see if it shoots straight.lol. I have: Remington 7400 in 3006, Savage 111 in 7mm Rem Mag, Winchester model 70 Heavy barrel in .223, Remingtom 552 in.22, Browning Gold Hunter in .12 ga, Verona in .12 ga. Ruger super redhawk with red dot scope in.44 mag, Beretta F96 in .40 cal, Beretta Tomcat in .32 and Ruger Mark 2 in .22. I got the .223 and .44 mag from my fathers guns when he died last spring. haven't shot them yet. Hope to get some more Dove hunting in this fall, Quail, Chachalaca, Deer, maybe some varmints. For sure some Ram and Hog hunting when it cools down some.

Hey guys. I don't get out on the boards often but when I do I will check this one out regularly. Good job on the board Bob...cat.
I basically dropped off the boards for some time because I knew there was a problem when I found myself paying too much attention to the posts rather than my business affairs.
I can't say I was addicted but rather characterize it as feeling a compulsion to answer every question I came across. Having been in the game call industry for way too long I felt like it was expected of me and my duty to help teach others the best way I knew how to be successful at calling critters.
I find these boards to be a wealth of user feedback that helps me make good recommendations to the people I consult for, Hunters Specialties. I want to pick your brains occasionally for ideas. I hope you won't mind.

Bob,
Looks like a great set up... I frequent the varminthunters GGVG board, but i really like this format. I am looking forward to spending time here. My name is Frank and I am in Round Rock. I guess I would have to say that my favorite caliber is the 22-250, since I have three of them. I spend a lot of time preparing for "mid-range" (300, 500, 600yd) matches and long range (800, 900, 1000yd) matches. I currently do most of my hunting on a lease just outside of Richland Springs (San Saba County).
