Favorite predator call?

Man, this is a good thread.

I make the Krusty Kriers mentioned here. And I am the king of being hornswaggled! LOL

One of my favorites is a call I made and sent to Rich Grantham, Rich decided I needed it back and I was so happy to have it... I hope he put some Arizona magic in it!
The other that sits atop my list, and I never go on a stand without, is my WB Customs closed reed call made by Walt Betts.
WBs are much smaller than most closed reed tubes, and have a great sound.
The third is an Alaskan Deer Call, which was recently gifted to me... where I live we have as much chance of a cougar coming to the call as we do a coyote, and a good doe bawl is one of the best sounds we can use.
I have so many other awesome customs I feel bad leaving anyone out... on any given day it might also be a BradH, a TnT, a RAW... the list goes on and on, and I try and switch around a lot so I don't get in a rut.

I am like Bob, not a true collector, but I also have about 40 calls... 35 are customs, and only four that I made.

Right now I am working on getting a set of calls, all from one piece of wood, for about ten different custom call makers.
They are made from flame maple, and will include such calls as a Brass Rhino, an open reed RAW, a PREDATOR with 30-06 mouthpiece, and an absolutly beautiful TnT!
I wish now I hadn't used any of the blanks myself, I ran out of wood before I ran out of call makers.

OC, I have only purchased three calls the whole time I have been calling... A Knight & Hale kit with a squeeze bulb and a really crappy howler, and a Carlton's Lonesome Cow elk call, only the Carlton's is worth owning.

GH I might have to have one of your calls! Very nice.

I made a large open reed predator call from butt of a whitetail deer antler yesterday. Made it for my friend BobR. After I blew the dang thing, I didn't want to let it go. Now BobR has my favorite predator call. Maybe he will WILL it to me. He does plan to wear a mule deer head while blowing on that thing in bear and cougar country. Lord have Mercy.

I'm just a rank amatuer but I already have 4 calls. A johnny stewart PC3, a J.S. Dog Howler, a CritR Call standard and a Tally Ho that I modified and then used as a voice for a cowhorn howler that I made, that sounds pretty good for a rookie caller. These things are addictive.

Favorite closed reed call is Burnham's WF-4 . Open reed is a Cronk medium Antler . Rich even put my web call sign on it for me . I have some hand made wood calls a friend that I started Predator hunting with made for me in the early 70's but they usually are left in the safety of my house , I would hate to lose one of them

I have called many coyotes with the old Mini-Blaster. You can make distress sounds,fox barks and a pretty good pup in distress. Carraway makes a really good squeker also. One of the first I have found that does not shut down with a little moisture. You can blow spit 5 feet in front of you and it still sounds good.

Hey Mr. cronk I have got to have me one of those cow horn howlers. Used one that a buddy of mine had and it sounded great.
