Do you have a favorite predtor call? If so, what brand and model is it?

Hey Rich, It is great to have one of the masters here! For closed reed calls I use my Brass Rhino's and Sceery AP-3 Jackrabbit the most. For open reed, I like the Crit'R Call Standard and PeeWee's. For my howler, I go to my Cronk Cow Horn Howler!! For those of you that don't know Rich Cronk, he is the owner of Cronk's Custom Calls. You NEED to check out his calls. He is a pretty fair caller, too!! Let us know what you choices are? Good Hunting, Bob Here is a link to Rich's web-site: hometown.aol.com/cronkcalls/calls.html

Bob, You have named some very good choices in calls alright. The Crit'r call line is well known for their trouble free performance in the field. Those Rhino calls are welllllllll, very sweet!

I have a few different calls but it's hard not to use my own custom calls! I do like the Rhino and I have a Cronk that is great......I've also been known to use a critter call on occasion.......
Probably not what you had in mind, but I guess my favorite is a call I made last year.....it doesn't look impressive.......it is made from a walnut tree that grew on my uncles farm.....the tree was killed by a flood and was cut down and made into lumber by my grandfather.....my grandfather was the first predator caller and varmint hunter I ever knew and I treasure the memories of the times we spent hunting and fishing together......my father gave me a left over piece of the walnut ....the scrap was an odd piece of wood that didn't get made into lumber.......we started cutting it into call blanks and found out that it was highly figured and unusually colored.............I turned a call from one of the blanks and took it with me to Africa last summer....... grandpa passed on a few years ago.....but it felt good to know that.....in some way.......grandpa was still hunting with me........

GonHuntin , I still have that little enclosed reed call that you made for me, and I will never sell it. It has been my favorite enclosed reed call ever since the day I received it.

Rich
You don't know how hard it was for me to send that one to you! There is something special about that call.....it just comes alive when it is blown. I believe it was a fair trade though.....my personalized killer call is one I would never part with!

I grin a little bit every time someone mentions the mini-blaster Good little call, but did you fellows know that the mini-blaster is just front half of a Burnham WF-4 with a short piece of plastic tubing pushed over the reed? My own favorite call is always changing. Right now it is a cow horn howler that I have right here in front of me. I have sworn to never sell this one. It sounds so much like a real coyote that I am having a hard time believing it.

;D I've had some fun with Burnham's JackRabbit call. The first time I used it, it scared every jackrabbit for about 1/2 mile around! But, it did bring in some cats later!

I know, Rich, but that little piece of tubing lets me make some great pup whines!! There is just something about that little call...... I also have one of GonHuntin's calls and agree, they are awesome!! I just wish he had more time to make more!! I still need to add a Cronk Killer Call to my collection along with the my howler and open reed antler call.....one can never have enough calls! Bob

;D Hey Bobcat... I've also got an old Mallardtone "Close In Call" that I still use. It's probably 30 years old by now, and still works like new! It's all wood and does have a few scratches on it, and has seen just a few varmits!

Y'all have to be careful with hand calls. They can get to be addictive. I am not a "true" collector and I have right at 40 hand calls right now. Think what would happen if I started collecting them......... bob

first my Cronk /Weiser, second and third my Krusty Kriers, Haydels Govt. cotton tail and JS PC-3. My friend and hunting buddy Rick, Bearmanric, gave me an old Burnam Bros CG-1, that is a great bear cub distress.
