I've killed a ton of coyotes in my life, cats and fox too. I've shot em with most everything under the sun. I've always liked the triple duce and the 22-250 but I love my swift. They invented it way back in the 30s and rifle makers are still trying to catch up to that 40 gr pill at 4110 fps lol.

My wife and I both use Model 700 Remingtons with synthetic stocks in .223. I also have several AR-15's that I really enjoy. My favorite is the Carbon 15 because it's so light and very accurate. I carry my Remington Custom Shop .308 when I think I might see the big cat. It really reaches out there accurately. I stay with .223 and .308 because they are commonly stocked, inexpensive, and still almost as accurate and powerful as any of the specialty calibers.

I use my 223 more then an other rifle. But for yotes the 22-250 is my choice. For max explosive guts on p-dogs I chose the 25-06 w/ 100gr nosler b-tips.

I shot my bobcat with a 257 Roberts. I am anxious to try out the 22-250 that my fiance just put together for me. Last week he tried it out and got a fox out in our pasture.

I shoot the ruger m77 mark II compact in .223 coyotes and use a Savage 12fvss in a 22.250 for p-dogs.I would have to say Savage is way out in front for accuracy.

I guess in my case its whatever I've just bought or traded for. This month its a pre-ban Colt AR15. Pretty handy to carry around in the feed pick-up and light enough to pack into a canyon to try for a coyote or whatever comes in.

It's hard to pick a favorite. I like my Interarms (cz) with a bell & carlson stock in 221 fireball, with it's er shaw barrel. My Tikka in 17 Rem and of course that evil balck rifle (bushmaster) in 223 .

I have used a 22/250 on coyotes for more years than I like to admit. While living in Montana 25 years ago, I had a 17 remington built for fox but got transferred back to Texas before i got a chance to use it.
This summer I tried a new 20 Tactical on PD's in the Panhandle and now have two of them - a Rem 700 (PacNor barrel) and a Cooper Mv. Hope to try the 700 on coyotes this winter.

I've had good luck with my 6PPC built on a Remington 700 and synthetic stock.Works well with a 65 gr. pill @ about 3200 fps. Also my .223 Remington VS works just as good at closer ranges.Or the other .223 in disguise of an AR15 by RRA,with a 24" bullbarrel with 55 gr. V-Max for fodder. This thing is a fun shooter! But don't forget the shotguns, they are a necessity for close work.Wayne

Hey Grey Ghost - how do you like your Savage 24F? Is the .223 barrell accurate out to 100 yards and farther out? What scope do you have on it? I bought one in .223 over 12 guage for turkey hunting - mounted an ATN holographic scope on it. I like it but - don't know how else to say it - can't really get used to it.
