Since everyone on here likes to hunt something, what about a P-Posse hunting lease? This way we would all have a place to hunt and not have to be looking all over and with the right management... well who knows? All of those that would want to hunt could say pay a membership type dues to help cover the cost of the lease, feed and maintence. Just think about it you are paying $$$ for a season lease and we could have us a TEXAS SIZE SPREAD of our own to hunt. Whadda ya think? South, West or what? Look at it this way our first hunt was booked and more wanted to join , (not picking ) kellyg has been out of work but would like to hunt, this would solve the problem. If you couldn't pay the dues maybe take some feed out or help maintain the place. We could get Bobcat to be the head chef since he has so may receipes ;D. Think about it, it maybe too late for this season but for next

Sound like a good idea -at least in principal (sorry if I sound like a UN negotiator ) I live in Houston, wouldn't mind paying some $$$ if the lease were within 5 hours or so from Casa ICM, and had the chance to hunt turkey, hogs and coyotes. If quail, deer and/or dove were involved, would drive a bit further and pay some more sheckels...... If ducks were involved, would offer to move there six months a year and be the groundskeeper and cook ....

ICMCummin, you just have to remember its rabbit season ;D. BTW 5 hours from Houston if I remember right covers alot of area. Ever hear of truck pooling? DeadEye you make a very good point, we could have a couple of leases. Lets keep checking to see what everyone or anyone else thinks.

I'd like to consider joining up. Would we need lawyers to be involved in something like this? If we don't need lawyers to get something like this going could we at least let some go out on the lease and maybe hunt a few? ;D ;D

Hey CoonDawg... a couple of things come to mind. We certainly don't want this to become what was around in the mid 70's. I think it was called the Sportsmans Club of America; they sold memberships to so called exclusive hunting places around the state, but when 500 hunters wanted on the same ranch at the same time, well you can imagine!
But, this is a good idea. My background is in mangement and small business operations and would be more than happy to help get the program organized and under way. It's gonna be hard to do this via the internet, so we would obviously need to sit down a meet somewhere!
But as Mills Lane always said ... "LET'S GET IT ON!" ;D

JD you make a real good point about not being like that club, I almost got suckered in . Seemas like we all have something to contribute to this project. I've studied Ag, fire science and worked in the enviromental field. I don't feel we need to sell memberships, this would be on a volunteer basis. Meaning if you want to hunt or take the family out you have to help out in someway. How large of a place(s) do you all feel we need to look at?

Sounds pretty interesting so far, but I do have a couple of questions. Or should I say I am somewhat off track as to how the lease would be paid for. If memberships aren't sold then how or who is going to pay the initial lease fee? Is that stated and I just missed it? As for the size of the place, thats going to depend on how many people want in on something like this. I do agree with having a set down face to face meeting so that everyone can meet and see what kind of hoodlums we are getting mixed up with.
