ok, Question #2 has been changed to How much land per hunter do you want? part 2 of Question #2 is do we want it in the Hill Country? South Texas ?West Texas? or a place in between ?
We have about 9 months to work this out,and I like the Idea about Bow hunting Weeks. As I don't bow hunt anymore but like the idea so everyone has a good time.
If you have any questions you can E-mail me at cwlm@prismnet.com
I will be at the ranch this week so,I will be checking the board.

I am not a "for sure" on this. Just don't know that I will be able to afford it. It is possible, but I don't want to screw things up by saying I can, and then back out late. I am definately interested though, we will just have to see.
As far as the questions above, I will go ahead and give my .02. Price per guy would be no more than a grand for me probably. Amount of land, the more the better. I think yes on wives and kids, and I also think guests that hunt on your tag would be great, but could get out of hand? I don't mind cows, unless there are too many of em.
2 buck counties would be the best (as mentioned above, great point).
I think this could be interesting, but like I said, I can't commit to "the list"...........I am going to play it by ear, and if that gets me cut off, then that is fine. I only want to do what is fair.
The nice thing is that there is a good amount of time.

Sorry TexasDoc my answer to #2 is correct though, I am willing to go wherever and whatever type of land as long as I can hunt it.
Within the state of Texas.

I agree with woodrow, and saber2th.It should be about 250/300 acres per person, however I tend to hunt later in the season(generaly dec20 to jan1 cause thats when work slows down)I can pay 1000 to 1500(this is per year?)for a decent place to hunt,as far as cows fi the place is big enough the cows can(should be)in another part of the ranch.I can only assume we(10 to 20 hunters) wont show up there every weekend?

I just want to be able to hunt at various times through the year, not just a Seasonal lease.

I agree with Sabre. Year round hunting would be nice. pedators, exotics, hogs, birds, whatever.

1. something around a $1000.00 per hunter per yr sounds good to me. 2. the 250-300 acres of land per hunter sounds good 3. in my opinion i would say no more than 20 hunters 4. yes wives and kids should be allowed 5. here is my .02 cents on what area - the mule deer population is growing pretty good in West Texas and it seems they are slowly moving more east - more than I thought they would anyway. there are some good areas that have mulies and whitetails mixed and most of these areas have a good number of hogs and we all know that West Texas has more varmints than we could hunt. The problem lies in that its not very centrally located and the whitetail population isn't as big as it is in the hill country or down south, but there are some big whitetails. so my vote goes to the West Texas area, but any area would be great. 1st question - is each hunter responsible for their own blind and feeder and is that the only blind they would be allowed to hunt in? Reason I ask I have seen it several times that part of the group works their butts off and has a GOOD reliable comfortable blind and they keep their feeder going all the time and the other part of the group has blinds that are falling apart and their feeders are empty and not feeding on a regular basis, but the lazy hunters find themselves in mid season not seeing any game and decides to sit in one of the GOOD blinds and ends up taking Muy Grande. I know this is probably something that would be discussed once we all get together, but I thought I would go ahead and throw it out there for everyone to think about.

I say that you repair all of our blinds and keep the feeders filled for us also. ;D

Not everyone of the hunters is going to be able to put in the amount of time that other hunters will. Some hunters may offer different skills than others. We just have to work those things out and maybe they can offer other things to the mix. This just has to be agreeable to all of the hunters. These are just things that need to be worked out in a conference.

Great to know about the blinds I have never built one and might need a hand in the design area. See you have something to offer.

captkb you might just be surprised I heard hogs will eat anything maybe even BS ;D Well the consenus seems to be $1000-$1500 200-300 acres per hunter Immediate family(spouses/children) guess on host tag other hunting year round bow hunting for those that do or would like to try multi-buck county(ies) 20-25 hunters max (Not at one time unless we get somethignoutstanding) West Tx land being more reasonable but rugged, S.Tx normally bigger bucks but higher prices. What if we look out around Crockett,Val Verde Terrel,Pecos,Kinney,Edwards,Upton and maybe Regan counties this would give us varied terrain all the while being close enough for all, even if someone drives from far E. Tx they could meet up with someone to pool out there. Like Bob said I asked for his thoughts on this when I met him and he told me the same thing he posted. The things I listed in the consenus is what I'm saying for myself as well. I know I brought this up and would like to see it happen , not just for us but for those we can pass this legacy onto
