Yes you are right we need to have a sit down to talk about this, now it seems like we have 9-10 people interested in this with a few more might be wanting to join in.
So far from what I can tell we are running from the I-35 corridor SA-Waco, off the sides to the Bastrop area and Whitney area. Houston to the east and west Texas.
Looking at this the best possible place to meet to be fair to all I would say is Austin just about midway for all and easy to get to.

Now I know you didn't think I was talking about during deer season ;D. Just the most logical place to meet.

sounds like a good plan,(I was one that signed up for the other hunting deal)however I travel for a living(truck driver never in the same place 2days running)and is almost impossible to do things(build blinds/ plant food plots)unless I schedule time for it.Im in the same sit as aggie because of this

Yes, we might have to have a lawyer but I'm sure we can find one that likes to hunt (since they can smell blood anyway) . Might just get lucky and they will do the work if we let them hunt too.

I'd be interested also, but the last large person lease I had went to pot in a year because of overhunting and people ot selectively taking game.
If anyone wants to go in on a west Texas lease let me know. I am looking for one at the time and would like to get in with a small group of responsible hunters.

Like DeadEye said we could have leases in a couple of areas, I'm checking for S. Tx now and a W. Tx lease would make this all the better.
Depending on how many people would determine how large of a place we would need.

If its South Texas. I might be interested. I know things can get kinda pricey down here though. I am doing the day hunt thing for the second year in a row for whitetail.

I might be interested in this deal. Here are my thoughts:
As far as location goes, I think the areas where we could get a lot of land for a decent price would consist of the outer edges of the Hill Country and the southern part of the panhandle. Some towns/areas I am thinking of are Sonora, Ozona, San Angelo, Brady, Abilene, Aspermont, Albany, etc. With the right management, those areas can produce some great bucks. Some of those areas would be pretty dang far for me, being from the Houston area, but I would drive 6 hours for a lot of land to roam with like minded hunters. If we get enough guys, we could get a great place.
The problems would be money, location, lease terms, guests?, etc.
I think it will take a lot of work, but it is a pretty good idea. The best places are generally the really big ones that one group can't fill up, so a corp. gets em.
I think the ideal deal would be to get like 20-25 guys on 10,000ish acres........that would be nearly 500 acres per hunter and the land would certainly be able to handle one "trophy" and one "cull/management" buck to each hunter in most (but not all) areas.
It seems to me if guests are allowed (which I think would be nice), they should hunt off the host's tag. So if you bring someone and they shoot a buck, it is your buck they shot.
This is kinda getting me fired up.

Sounds pretty good to me. I'm on with Deer Texas.com, and have listings of leases throughout the state. I'm sure other members are also on this so if anyone finds something of interest what just post here. Are we ready to start looking or are we going to meet up and chat sometime after the first of the year?

Woodrow you bring up some very important details about guest shooting on the host tag. I was thinking about a limit of 30 members. Don't worry about the 6 hour drive we have some others down your way that are interested in this also so a hunting trip shouldn't be a problem.
Sabre2th, I think if we wait until after the first of the year we would have a better chance of finding the best place.

One thing to keep in mind is up around Abilene there are a lot 1 buck, 2 doe counties. I think also (I'm on a roll ) the folks who are posting on here now go on the list first when it comes time to sign up. Just my .02 ;D Oh yeah, we need a "No Nekkid Hunting" rule too!! (refer to pee thread for clarification)
